Hoh Xil 30ml
The antlers of the antelope point towards the heavens, whilst the breath of all living creatures lies hidden within the dust.
Sacred, vast, and timeless.
The sharpness of the antlers piercing through the clouds, the weathered patterns on the mani stones, and the devotion left behind by white yaks as they circle the mountain pass.
Hoh Xil encapsulates the blessings of the snow-capped depths within its scent.
The top notes of butter and dust wash over you—the first breeze rising from the boundless wilderness, the morning light shattered by yak bells on ancient pastoral trails, carrying the earth’s most primal warmth;
The heart notes of patchouli, white sandalwood, musk slowly intertwine; the bitterness of patchouli and the warmth of white sandalwood entwine upon the skin. White sandalwood exudes a warm, woody and gentle fragrance, capable of alleviating stress and anxiety, bringing a sense of tranquillity and inner peace, immersing one in a dreamlike atmosphere, evoking memories of serene forests and the warmth of sunlight filtering through the leaves;
In the base notes, incense and ambergris rise in a gentle wisp—the smoke of mulberry leaves rising before the mani stone piles at the mountain pass, the whispers and prayers of all living creatures to the mountain deity upon this land that was once an ocean.
The bottle is adorned with the auspicious knot pattern—known in Tibetan as ‘Palgyi Behu’—which is explained in ancient texts as ‘the symbol of the eternal circle, representing the enduring and immutable presence of deities and Buddhas, and a symbol of eternal immortality’. The bottle cap is crafted from natural raw stone, carefully selected and polished by hand; the polishing process is extremely prone to breakage and cracking, resulting in a yield rate of just 30%. We do not resort to the simpler method of machine-polishing to achieve a uniform shape, but rather preserve the stone’s natural form, weathered over millennia. In its rough texture, we sense the embodiment of the Mountain God; drawing close to inhale, one can still perceive the breath of all living beings amidst the boundless dust.
